ASBURY PARK One of Chocolate Bar's most ambitious retail developments to date, entry into Asbury Park marks the latest step in its ongoing international expansion. Since the opening of its first store in New York City in 2002, Alison Nelson’s Chocolate bar has built a network of more than 15 restaurants across 4 markets. The Asbury location will include a large-scale cafe with a sales floor of nearly 2,180 square feet. Designed as a Flagship showcase for the Chocolate Bar brand, the venue will be crafted with a vintage modern feel including a theatrical view of chocolate creation within the bar area. Guests will be offered a full service menu including its iconic graffiti wrapped chocolate bars, award-winning baked goods, killer truffles, kickin' espresso, signature cakes, banging bon bon’s, an old school soda fountain, and a tremendous range of hot and cold beverages offered early in the morning until late into the night.

ALISON NELSON A native New Yorker, Chocolate Bar founding owner, Alison Nelson, sipped her first cup of coffee with her father at the age of 8 and put herself through college on the tips of customers while waiting on tables at top-notch New York coffee shops. She launched Chocolate Bar six years ago with an initial investment of USD 75,000 and since that time she has risen to the heights of the business world. in 2004 she was named one of Gourmet News Magazine’s influential “20 under 40”, in 2006, she was named one of Crain’s Business “40 Under 40” and in 2007 received the Inc Magazine’s award for one of the “Fastest Growing Private Company’s in America”. Her book Chocolate Bar: Recipes and Entertaining Ideas for Living the Sweet Life won the 2005 Gourmand World Cookbook award.
